Samsung has some very clear ideas about the future of high-definition displays. Clear as in you can see right through one of them.

Soon, you’ll be able to mount a Samsung TV in your home without sacrificing valuable wall space that you could be using for shelves to show off your Amiibo collection (since you could hang it right over a picture window if you wanted to). Samsung claims their see-through OLED display is four times more transparent than competitors’ LCD-baesd designs. It’s also got a broader color gamut, higher contrast ratio, faster refresh rate (just 1ms), and uses much less power.

Could you really put Samsung’s see-through display in front of a window and not sacrifice the view? You probably could. It’s 40% transparent, and would mostly make it look like you applied window film to block a little light and heat.

As for their other big display reveal, it’s headed straight for your bathroom where it will probably one day show you ads for a better rechargeable toothbrush or new and improved mouthwash while you brush away your morning mouth. Yes, Samsung is making a smart mirror.

Like others we’ve read about before, Samsung’s 55-incher will let you do things like virtually try on outfits in your wardrobe, check out the weather forecast, or get the rundown on the NBA finals while you finish your daily grooming ritual.

Samsung has opted for an Intel RealSense camera in their mirror, which means it could theoretically do double duty as an authentication device for a Windows 10 computer. Possibly something like Intel’s Compute Stick, which you’d be able to jam into an HDMI port if Samsung opts to include one.
